Join live count shows nothing

The phone's join list shows only live counts for its current outlet, so an empty list usually means the count has not started or the phone is on another outlet.

What you see

On the phone, Inventory → Join live count lists nothing, although the tablet is counting, or seems to be.

Why

The join list shows live counts for the phone’s current outlet only. Four causes cover almost every case:

  1. The tablet has not actually started the count. There is no shared badge on its count screen.
  2. The phone is on a different outlet from the tablet.
  3. The tablet’s device key was switched off in Settings → Connections. Its count never reached NOPI, and the tablet is counting on its own.
  4. The live count expired. Nobody touched it for 24 hours.

What to do

  1. Look at the tablet’s count screen. Check it shows the shared badge. If it does not, start the count there.
  2. On the phone, open Profile and make sure you are on the same outlet as the tablet.
  3. Pull down to refresh the join list.
  4. If the tablet says it is not connected, ask a manager to link it again. On a phone, open NOPI → Profile → Link SwiftInventory tablet (your NOPI app may show this as Sign in another device), then scan the code on the tablet. See Link a tablet by QR from NOPI.
  5. If the count was started more than a day ago, start a fresh one on the tablet.

If the tablet shows “offline — will share”

The tablet started the count without a connection. It keeps trying in the background and joins the shared count once it is back online. Get the tablet online, wait for the badge to change to shared, then refresh the list on the phone.

Still empty?

If the tablet shows the shared badge, both devices are on the same outlet, and the list is still empty, something is wrong. Note the venue and the time it happened so it can be investigated.
