What Swift Inventory is and what you need

Swift Inventory is a tablet app and Bluetooth scale for counting bar stock, with every count filed to your venue's stock ledger.

What it does

Swift Inventory is a stock-counting app for bars. You scan a bottle, weigh it on a Bluetooth scale, and the app files the count into the system that owns your venue’s stock.

  • Whole bottles are counted by tapping or typing a number.
  • Open bottles are weighed. The app turns the weight into “% left” and millilitres.
  • Counts are filed once, to one stock ledger per venue. See Where counts go.

The app is built for tablets. On a tablet the count screen shows the product list on the left and the scale and scanner on the right, so the scale stays connected for the whole count. The same app runs on a phone, where the weigh panel appears for the product you select.

What you need

  1. A tablet (iOS or Android) with the Swift Inventory app installed.
  2. The Bluetooth scale. You need it to weigh open bottles. Counting whole bottles works without it.
  3. An account. Swift Inventory runs on your NOPI account. If your venue already uses NOPI, you link the tablet by scanning a QR code from your phone. If it does not, you create a Swift Inventory account on the tablet.

Your venue’s stations, product lists and bottle weights come through your account automatically. There is nothing else to configure and no keys to type.

The menu

The app’s menu has these pages:

  • Counts – start and continue stock counts.
  • Archive – past and queued counts.
  • Stations & storage – where stock is used, kept and supplied from.
  • Products – look up products and bottle weights.
  • Analytics – counting activity and reports.
  • Scale – scan and weigh without a count.
  • Profile – account, venue, sign in and out.
  • Connections – NOPI, SwiftPOS, Circona.
  • Help – how everything works.
