Common problems on the tablet
Quick fixes for the problems the tablet's own Help page covers: registry not reachable, a scanner that will not read, the wrong venue, numbers that look off and a scale that is not found.

“Registry not reachable”
You filed a bottle weight and saw “Registry not reachable right now — saved, will file automatically.”
The tablet has no connection. The weight is saved on the device and files itself when the connection returns. You do not need to weigh the bottle again.
Counts behave the same way. See Offline and queued counts.
The scanner will not read
- Clean the camera lens.
- Add more light.
- Hold the tablet about 15 cm from the barcode.
If you are scanning a sign-in QR code from NOPI, remember that the code expires after 2 minutes. Show a fresh code on the phone and scan again. See Link a tablet by QR from NOPI.
“Barcode … isn’t known to any connected system”
The barcode is not in your venue’s products or in the product registry. Add the product to your venue’s products in NOPI first, then scan it again.
The tablet is on the wrong venue
- Open Profile. It shows the outlet the tablet is linked to.
- If it is the wrong one, link the tablet again from a phone that is signed in to the right venue. See Link a tablet by QR from NOPI.
If you signed in with a password and your account has several venues, tap the right venue in the list on Profile.
The numbers look off
Variance is worked out when a manager finalises the count. Before that, the figures on the tablet’s review may be partial.
Compare what was counted with what the ledger expected in the count’s review, and check which kind of place you counted. A bar with no till connected almost always shows a large negative difference that is normal trade. See Review variance after a count.

No scale found
The scale goes to sleep quickly.
- Switch the scale off and on again.
- Tap Retry in the weigh panel.
If the panel says the scale is with a phone, see Share the scale between phone and tablet. If the count header says Weighing: off, see Why weighing can be off.
The weight will not turn into “% left”
The product has no bottle weights on file. See Why a product says “no weights yet”.
The tablet stopped connecting
The tablet’s key can be switched off in NOPI at any time. The tablet then needs linking again. See The device says its key is invalid, revoked, expired or lacks a scope.
