Create a Swift Inventory account from the tablet

If your venue does not use NOPI, you can create an account for your venue on the tablet and it is connected as soon as the account is made.

DraftNot yet checked step by step against the running app. Labels may differ slightly.

When to use this

Use this if your venue does not already use NOPI. If it does, link the tablet by QR instead: see Link a tablet by QR from NOPI.

Both routes end the same way. The tablet gets its own key for your venue, and nothing further needs configuring.

Steps

  1. Open Swift Inventory on the tablet. On first launch the Counts page shows Set up this tablet.
  2. Under New to Swift Inventory, tap Create a Swift Inventory account.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • First name and Last name
    • Email
    • Password (8+ characters)
    • Venue name
    • Country – a 2-letter code, for example GB
    • Company registration number – 4 to 20 letters and digits
    • City (optional)
  4. Tap Create account and connect.

The account, your venue and the tablet’s key are made in one go. The tablet is connected as soon as the account is made, and product look-up by barcode works straight away. Your new venue is then reviewed by Red Swift.

If something goes wrong

The form checks your entries before anything is created. You may see:

  • “Enter your first and last name.”
  • “Enter a valid email address.”
  • “The password needs at least 8 characters.”
  • “Enter the venue name.”
  • “Country is a 2-letter code, e.g. GB.”
  • “The company registration number is 4–20 letters and digits.”

If you see “Could not connect — check the internet connection and try again”, check the connection and tap Create account and connect again. It is safe to repeat after a failure part-way through.

Already have an account?

Tap I already have an account — sign in. This opens Profile, where you can scan a QR code from NOPI or sign in with your email and password. See The NOPI connection.

What happens next

Your Swift Inventory account is a NOPI account. Stations, storage and product lists are kept on that account and appear on the tablet automatically. See Stations and warehouses.
