Wiki / The scale
Connect the scale
Switch the scale on and the app connects to it automatically over Bluetooth.
DraftNot yet checked step by step against the running app. Labels may differ slightly.
Steps
- Switch the scale on.
- Open a count, or open Scale from the menu to weigh without a count.
- Watch the status line at the top of the weigh panel. It moves through:
- Looking for a scale…
- Connecting to …
- the scale’s name followed by connected
- With the platter empty, tap Tare (empty platter).
You do not need to pair the scale by hand. The app connects automatically.
On a tablet, the weigh panel sits on the right of the count screen and the scale stays connected for the whole count. On a phone, the weigh panel appears for the product you select.
If no scale is found
The scale goes to sleep quickly.
- Switch the scale off and on again.
- Tap Retry in the weigh panel.
If you see “Scale disconnected”, do the same.
If the panel says “Scale off”
Check these first:
- Phones are counting. In a shared count the scale goes to the phones first, and the tablet waits. The weigh panel tells you who has the scale. See Share the scale between phone and tablet.
- Weighing is off for this count. The count header shows Weighing: off and the scale stays off. See Why weighing can be off.
Weigh without a count
Open Scale from the menu to scan and weigh a bottle outside a count. This is useful for checking the scale, or for filing a sealed or empty bottle’s weight. See File sealed-full and empty weights.
